75 Years of Synagogue Software Experience, One Purpose-Built Platform

Kehillah Connect was born from 75+ years of combined experience working within the constraints of existing synagogue backend systems. We lived the frustration — so we built the platform we always wished existed, with one priority: a top-of-market member experience.

Kehillah Connect didn't start in a tech incubator or a venture capital pitch room. It started in synagogue offices — sitting beside rabbis, executive directors, and administrators who were doing their best to serve their communities with tools that were never built for them. We spent years inside those systems, and we felt the same frustration they did.

Together, our team brings more than 75 years of combined experience working within the confines of existing synagogue backend systems. We've migrated data from platforms that hadn't been updated in a decade. We've watched staff give up on software and go back to spreadsheets. We've seen members fall through the cracks — not because no one cared, but because the tools made it nearly impossible to keep up. That experience shaped everything about how Kehillah Connect was built.

We lived the problem

When you spend years inside legacy synagogue systems, you learn things that no product demo or feature comparison will tell you. You learn that a "powerful" database is useless if no one can figure out how to use it. You learn that automation means nothing if it's bolted onto an interface from 2005. You learn that the member experience — the thing that actually determines whether someone stays engaged — is almost always an afterthought.

We watched dedicated staff burn out trying to make inadequate tools work. We watched synagogues pay for expensive software that their members never touched because it was too confusing. We watched opportunities for connection slip away — a milestone unmarked, an inquiry unanswered, an event under-attended — not for lack of caring, but because the systems in place made it too hard.

priority: a top-of-market member experience

One priority guided everything

When we set out to build Kehillah Connect, we could have started with a feature list. We didn't. We started with a single question: What would it look like if a synagogue's software made members feel valued, connected, and taken care of at every touchpoint?

That question — and the commitment to make the member experience the number one priority — shaped every decision we made. Not features for their own sake. Not complexity to justify a price tag. Just a relentless focus on what it feels like to be a member of a community that is running on software that actually works.

Our guiding principle

A top-of-market member experience isn't a feature — it's the standard against which every feature is measured. If it doesn't make a member's experience better, it doesn't ship.

Built from the member outward

Most synagogue software is built from the database outward — start with what the administrator needs to store, then figure out how to let members see a little of it. Kehillah Connect flips that. We started with the member: the parent enrolling a child in school, the family registering for High Holiday tickets, the donor making a year-end gift, the mourner looking up a yahrzeit. We built each of those experiences to be effortless, warm, and human — and then we built the powerful tools behind them that let staff manage it all without the busywork.

That inversion is why Kehillah Connect feels different. It's not a back-office system with a member-facing add-on. It's a member experience platform with a back-office that finally keeps up.

Trust and credibility, by design

Synagogues don't just need software — they need trust. Members trust their institution with their family's milestones, their giving, their personal information, and their spiritual lives. Every interaction with your systems either reinforces that trust or erodes it.

We built Kehillah Connect with that responsibility in mind. A member who receives a thoughtful, on-time yahrzeit email feels seen. A member who can pay their dues in seconds feels respected. A member who gets a warm, immediate response to an inquiry feels welcomed. Trust isn't built by one big gesture — it's built by hundreds of small interactions done well, consistently. That's what Kehillah Connect was designed to deliver.

Why we're different

There's no shortage of software that claims to serve synagogues. What makes Kehillah Connect different isn't a single feature — it's the perspective behind it. We've been in the trenches. We know the specific, sometimes painful realities of running a Jewish institution. We didn't build a generic tool and slap a Star of David on it. We built a platform that understands yahrzeits and b'nai mitzvah, kosher catering and Hebrew school enrollment, the rhythm of the Jewish calendar, and the relationships that hold a community together.

And we built it with one goal that never wavered: to give synagogues a tool that helps them build trust and credibility with every member, at every touchpoint — so they can spend less energy on administration and more on the sacred work of community.

75 years of experience. One purpose-built platform.

Kehillah Connect is the platform we always wished existed — and the one your community deserves.
